Prevention
The overall role of the Prevention program is to help communities within Region VI enhance their capacity to address issues related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
This program provides technical assistance, consultation, guidance, and resources to Community Response Teams and Coalitions within the nine county region. In addition, the coordinator serves as a liaison for the Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The Prevention program is also available for consultation and to provide resources and referrals to schools, law enforcement, churches and other entities that have an interest in prevention issues.
